Length: 13.3 miles one way
Type: Out & Back or Shuttle
Time: 2 to 4 hours
Aerobic: Strenuous
Technical: Advanced
Season: Early summer through fall

Land Status: GPNF, Mt. Adams Ranger District

Trailhead: From Hood River, head across the Columbia River and proceed north through White Salmon on hwy. 141 for 25 miles to Trout Lake. Go through Trout Lake and then go right on forest service road 88. Follow roads 88, 8851 and 24 another 21.6 miles the start of the ride at Suprise Lakes. (1 hour)

Highlights: A wide ATV trail which climbs and descends, steeply at times, through a thick forest. A full suspension type of trail with huge ruts, creek crossings and rocks. The trail is mostly in dense forest and is scheduled for some major work and re-routing.

Note: Use caution around ATV's and motorcycles and avoid mid and late summer when the sand/dust gets very deep and difficult to ride through.
