Status: Unknown

Steward: No Steward

updated by Kay, 6/22/2009 There is still snow on the ground. There are many dead trees up there just waiting to come down. Only the middle section has been logged out.

Length: 13.2 Miles
Type: Out & Back
Time: 2.5 to 4 hours
Aerobic: Strenuous
Technical: Intermediate
Season: Summer through fall

Land Status: MHNF/Barlow Ranger District

Trailhead: From Hood River, head 31 miles south on hwy. 35 to forest road 44 on the left. Drive up road 44 5.4 miles to the Bottle Prairie trailhead on the left. (1 hour)

Highlights: Long climbs, great views, incredible singletrack descent.

Note: You can easily combine this loop with the 8 Mile Creek or Knebal Springs Loops. The hike up to Lookout Mountain from High Prairie at the half way point of the ride is well worth the extra effort for the 360° view.
